Which of the poems had the most meaning for you personally?
There wasn't a poem that stuck out to me the most. To be honest i thought all of them had there own unique style of showing the reader what it is about. All of them were very emotional and had passionate words to describe the way they are feeling. These poems are about identity and how depressing life could turn out. This is why I think they all mean something to me in a different way because everyone tells a different story but the moral is the same. These poems all illustrate the fact that money and looks can't buy you happiness if you are alone or you look and act different then everyone else. These events lead to depression and sometimes death. These things happen to people everyday around the world because they just don't feel like they belong. All the poets are very talented in showing that depression is commen this is why all of them mean the same to me.
What thoughts and feelings did the texts evoke in you?
There were many thoughts and feeling I had when I was reading these poems. These poems are very touching and when reading this, it makes me think about the people around the world that have to deal with this. I am very fortunate to have a happy life where my family and friends are very nice people. As well as this, the poems are trying to show that people are treated by the way they look and I think that is unacceptable. In the poem Richard Cory by E.A Robinson there is a quote that says "We people on the pavement looked at him." The poet here is trying to explain that people who live in poverty are struggling and have been forced to live on the streets. This making them look bad and being treated differently from everyone else. The word 'identity' is the word that not only connects the poems together but shows how everyone is treated different in how they look and dress. The poems are very moving and this is why readers can like me understand the fact that people do struggle if not loved by another.

Feedback
I like how you have brought in a personal example to help demonstrate your understanding of the quote. Next time could you further explain what why you think it is important that one should never give up. You could develop your thoughts on the quote a little bit more. Overall it is well done.

Emerson's Quote
I truly think that Emerson is trying to advocate that fact that you have to believe in what you stand for. He is trying to explain that if you follow your heart happiness will come. An example from my life in which I experienced this, was when I was living in New Zealand and my family told me the news that I was moving back to my Canada. I didn't want to move back and I felt like my heart belonged to New Zealand. Although this was my thought I had no choice to move back so I said bye too all my friends and started my life here. Even though I did not get what I wanted, I still believe that one day when I am older I could move back to New Zealand and live my life there. This experience has changed my view in life and it will always stay in my heart. This is an example in my life when I regret not following my heart, which is why my goal for the future is to go back. This happens to people around the world and for them to be happy they have to believe in their own thoughts and beliefs.
